You are the face of the Catering Service operation as a Kitchen Assistant with Sodexo.  This position involves making sure that all work areas are kept clean and organised at all times as well as preparing and serving our various menus. Your positive attitude and 5 star* customer service abilities is what will make you an indispensable part of everyone's daily life.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist with steamtable and counter setup and serving of hot and/or cold food
  • Sanitise and clean workstations and equipment.
  • At the conclusion of meal times, serve and replenish food from counters and steam tables and dismantle stations.
  • Assist in preparation of various food items, following recipes in line with guidance provided

What you bring:

  • Professionalism, empathy, and a positive outlook on life
  • A vital attribute is being able to demonstrate consistently a teamwork mentality.
  • Basic food handling skills are preferred, however not essential.
  • Ability to spend up to eight hours a day working while standing
  • Food handing skills are preferable, however, not essential

Here at our iconic Hurstpierpoint College, Independents by Sodexo are offering a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Assistant to be welcomed into and become a part of our seasoned catering team.

  • 42.5 hours per week
  • £11.97 per hour - Attractive overtime options 
  • Working pattern:  Monday - Saturday
  • Free parking
