Interim Catering manager

Job Introduction

As the Interim Catering Manager for a prestigious boarding school contract, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing catering and facilities operations. You will ensure financial management, maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety, and drive innovation to enhance student satisfaction. Join our team to deliver exceptional service and contribute to the success of our contract.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage catering and facilities operations within agreed financial guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safe working practices on the premises.
  • Control expenditure, including wages, overtime, and employee-related costs.
  • Represent Sodexo at client meetings and attend relevant training courses.
  • Ensure compliance with service level agreements and key performance indicators.
  • Recruit, manage, train, motivate, and appraise staff to promote good employee relations.
  • Deliver Sodexo's Fresh Food from Scratch food offer and innovate the food and marketing offer on site.
  • Form student engagement forums and seek their involvement in the school's food offer.
  • Implement payroll and recipe management systems as required.

Key Outputs:
  • Achieve financial targets within a framework of financial control.
  • Efficiently manage client business within agreed budgets.
  • Deliver budgeted profit and turnover as agreed with the line manager.
  • Identify opportunities for business growth within the contract and external market.
  • Ensure compliance with company purchasing policy and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively manage clients and ensure prompt delivery of services to agreed standards.
  • Recruit and manage unit personnel, ensuring health and safety compliance.

Person Specification:
  • 2-3 years of leadership and supervisory experience, preferably in catering.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills.
  • Good financial acumen and front-of-house skills.
  • HND or equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant vocational qualifications are advantageous.
