Catering Manager

Job Introduction

Sodexo has over 40 years of experience supporting the defence forces of the UK, the US and France. We support individuals, the community and the environment on base, working with military leaders to enhance the physical and mental wellbeing of personnel across all military services.

Based at Brize Norton, the largest station of the Royal Air Force we are recruiting for an experienced Catering Manager to manage the Junior Ranks Mess and support the Head Chefs with compliance and the running of the all other site Messes.

This is a large, busy operation that prepares, cooks and serves up to 500 meals per sitting per day from a pre-prepared rolling menu.
You will have proven experience in a management role within the hospitality sector and the ability and willingness to step in and cover in a chef capacity if needed.

Leading from the front, you will directly manage a team of around 16 chefs encompassing civilians and military.
You will have responsibility for;
  • Profit and Loss
  • Accounts
  • Payroll
  • Health and Safety (including risk assessments and allergen checks)
  • Staff training
  • Stock Control
  • Audits
  • Events Planning
You will have high standards and the proven experience to lead by example with credibility and conducting yourself with integrity at all times in line with the expectation of the Military Personnel based upon site.
