Salary: £29,036 per annum
We are now looking to recruit an experience Industrial Caterer that can assist in preparing and cooking meals at HMP Peterborough.
The ideal candidate must be able to challenge negative behaviour and work within a strict timeframe, so time managements skills are key to this role as industrial caterer. You will be assisting in the preparation and cooking of food for 1300 prisoners 3 times daily in accordance with Sodexo policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate:
- Qualification in Food safety level 3.
- City and Guilds 7132/06-07 or 706/2 diploma in food production and cooking or equivalent.
- Follow instructions given by the Catering Manager and Supervisor.
- You must have a flexible and responsive attitude.
- Have an interest in rehabilitation and resettlement of offenders and to always be able to communicate effectively.
- All offers are subject to vetting and clearance checks.
Duties:
- Controlling the receipt, storage & issue of resources.
- Support the induction phase of all new prisoner workers, In both the main kitchen and staff canteen.
- You will have to maintain all food safety/ Health and Safety regulations.
- Support the delivery of a four-week menu cycle of a varied and diverse menu options.
- Meet agreed prison targets which will be identified in your PDR and reviewed regularly throughout the year.
- You will be working with challenging individuals in a large catering environment.
- You will provide prisoners support to increase their Catering knowledge and to increase prisoner employability and reduce re-offending
The role is full time position 40-hour per week Inc weekend and occasional bank holidays.
