Assistant Soft Services Manager

Job Introduction

Sodexo have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Soft Services Manager to join their busy team based in Worthing, West Sussex. 

The role will be responsible for managing a small team across the customer site and responsible for all operational services including cleaning, catering, guest services and post room provisions. 

Our preferred candidate should have previous experience working in a similar role with a soft services industry, with fantastic people and management skills. This role can also be known as Front of House Manager. Any candidates with experience of working within a Front of House Manager will have the necessary skills to be successful in this position.

Role Responsibility

  • Manage all services within the soft facilities management operational business area including catering portering, mailroom, cleaning and reception services 
  • Support the General Services manager to ensure standards of service detailed in the service level agreement, KPIs and within the schedules of the contractual terms and conditions are achieved, maintained and developed for assigned operational business area 
  • Supervise all aspects of performance of an assigned group of direct reports including front of house colleagues, porters, mailroom operatives, cleaners and receptionist
  • maintain excellent client/customer relationships 
  • Attend team briefs, huddles and meetings as required 
  • Attend your performance development review to discuss job standards and agree development activities  
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area at all times 
  • Maintain high levels of personal hygiene and wear the appropriate uniform and PPE as required  
  • Care for all available resources including equipment, materials and supplies as directed 
  • Adhere to cash policies and ensure the safekeeping on any cash handled 
  • Report any near miss occurrences, accidents or faulty equipment to management 
  • Ensure effective communication with line manager, team, customer and client organisation 
  • Maintain all areas of responsibility to the set service standards and in line with applicable service offer 
  • Supervise the team fairly and drive engagement

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience of working in catering and/or Mess operational role
  • Great leadership and people skills  
  • Must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication  
  • Able to work on own initiative within a team environment 
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards
