Female Security Officer

Job Introduction

We are currently looking to recruit a qualified female security officer to carry our various tasks around one of our Corporate Sites.

Role Responsibility

  • Conduct individual, bag or property searches, if directed to do so by the Site Supervisor and / or Security Manager
  • We operate Demand Led Scheduling (this will be discussed in detail at interview)
  • Provide a professional, efficient, and approachable security service with associated switchboard, gatehouse and reception duties, maintaining a high level of customer service to staff and visitors at all times
  • Carry out internal and external patrols, day and night to ensure a safe and secure environment, recording maintenance issues, potential breaches of security or unusual occurrences in the ‘Daily occurrence book’
  • Ensure that those who should not be granted access to the site are professionally and politely prevented from gaining access or escorted from the building
  • As part of the team assist facilities team with the regular testing of fire alarms and other security equipment, completing the appropriate logs, and notifying the Security Supervisor or Security Manager of any issues of malfunctioning equipment.
  • Ensure that the CCTV system is professionally, effectively and sensitively monitored in compliance with relevant procedures and legislation
  • Conduct routine security administration including the issue of parking passes, staff cards and visitor passes and, permits. Ensure that any lost property is securely stored, recorded and retrieved for the owner where appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A good knowledge and appreciation of current security environments, the potential risks and threats and actions to mitigate these
  • Must have a full, clean valid driving licence
  • Full SIA licence
  • Willingness to undertake a flexible shift pattern, to include night shifts in accordance with Sodexo roster
  • Security experience preferably as part of an in-house team
  • Ability to assess a situation quickly, using appropriate actions to diffuse a situation and provide effective solutions, particularly with people demonstrating disruptive behaviour

Package Description

Due to the nature of the duties involved, only female applicants will be considered for this role.

Working 4 days on followed by 4 days off, day and night shifts, including Bank holidays. Shifts are 06.30 - 18.30 and night shifts are 18.30 - 06.30.
