General Services Manager

Job Introduction

Are you an accomplished Facilities Manager with a strong technical background? Do you have proven experience in a manufacturing environment?

We currently have an opportunity for a Facilities Manager to join the team, working alongside a leading FMCG client in Trafford Park, Manchester. Reporting to the Account Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of IFM services on site (soft and technical) whilst overseeing the manufacturing line. You will have management responsibility for the Soft Services Manager, Technical Lead and Production line support and so knowledge in these areas is essential.

We are looking for a pro-active individual, who welcomes a challenge and will drive focus on delivering operational excellence. You will need to have excellent communication skills and a strong financial mind.

This is a Monday – Friday role based in Trafford Park, however may involve occasional travel and so flexibility is required.

 

Role Responsibility

  • To manage and control the services for the client to the agreed specification, performance, safety. qualitative and financial targets.
  • Foster long term profitable relationships with Clients to maintain existing business and identify new opportunities via operational excellence.
  • Motivate and lead a high performing Technical team to achieve personal and business objectives
  • Motivate and lead ; critical manufacturing support for P&G production lines.
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational best practice
  • Compliant delivery and performance of contracted services as measured through performance management systems
  • Identify opportunities for growth and support with innovations
  • Adhere to all HSE policies and procedures to drive a zero harm safety culture;
  • Manage budgets to maintain and achieve financial targets

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Strong Technical background (will be the main Technical SPOC on the contract)
  • Proven experience of working in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of City & Guilds Craft Qualification Certificate and demonstrable experience in a trade discipline
  • IOSH Certificate in Managing Safely
  • High level of practical knowledge of relevant employment, Health and Safety and general legislative requirements
  • Experienced at a professional level with a proven track record of building services management and building asset (plant and equipment) operations in a complex building services environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to all levels within the Sodexo
  • Proven experience of managing employees within a service environment and maximising the performance of their team
  • Strong negotiation skills

Desirable

  • NEBOSH Qualified
  • Have held an Authorised Person (Trade Discipline Specific)
  • Certification in Risk Assessment
  • ISO Standards Internal Auditor
  • Management of Legionella, Water Quality Management
  • Maximo

Package Description

£50,000 per annum + bonus + benefits
