Job Introduction

Here at Truro High School For Girls an opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic catering team.

Although part of a large company with an excellent passion for food and first rate health and safety culture we're a small tightly-knit team .

positioned at the heart of Cornwall here at Truro high school for girls we are looking for an experienced Chef with the aim to provide healthy, creative and nutritious meals for our boarders and students.

Role Responsibility

Comply with all company Health and Safety Regulations

Safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire, COSHH.

Assist the head chef when required in planning menus and orders

Assist with any functions , some of which may occur outside working hours

comply with all company policies/procedures and client site rules and regulations

Ensure high standards of personal hygiene

Assist in service of meals when required.

Ensure all food safety practices are met(food is served and cooked to the correct temperatures)

Work as a team to promote harmonious working relationships within the catering team.

report any incidents of accident, fire, theft, loss, damage, unfit food, or any other irregularities.

The Ideal Candidate

1-2 years Chef de Partie experience

Second Chef that is looking for a new Challenge

Strong level of literacy and numeracy

Enhanced DBS clearance ( Company will support with the cost )

Chef qualifications an advantage but not essential

Ability to work as part of a team.

Self -motivated, flexible, good time keeper, and have a positive approach to learning new skills.

Good communication skills

Ability to set standards and work well under pressure.

Package Description

Here at Truro High School for Girls a vacancy has arisen for a chef / chefs to join our team.

Hours - Monday to Friday 10.00am till 7.00pm 42.5 hours a week

Alternatively hours could be split to create two positions.

Position 1 - Monday to Friday 9.30am till 2.00pm with the option of working Sunday 10.30am till 6.30pm

Position 2 - Monday to Friday 3,00pm till 7.00pm with the option of working Sunday 10.30am till 6.30pm.

Working mostly Term-time with additional opportunities during school holidays.

Salary starting at £10.25ph

Company offers a work place pension/additional benefits.
