Event Planning Manager

Sodexo Live! have a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and results-driven individual to become our Event Planning Manager based at one of Edinburgh’s most prestigious venues.

You will join our team at the Royal Botanic Garden and be responsible for overseeing the management of event coordinators, supporting the Head of Events with onsite logistics, and providing our clients with the event experience they expect from Sodexo Live!

This is a rare opportunity to work in the exciting setting in the Royal Botanic Garden which participates in projects in more than 35 countries around the world. In 2020 it celebrated its scientific and horticultural achievements of the past 350 years, tracing progress from 17th century physic garden to world-leading botanic gardens.

Role Responsibility

• The management of the event coordinators based at the Royal Botanic Gardens
• Support the Head of Events with management of the onsite logistics team
• To exceed targets by providing clients with a motivating and exemplary event experience
• Identify customer needs and provide solutions to match
• Build working relationships with internal and external clients
• Assist the Head of Events in achieving annual budgets in catering, drinks and packages
• To monitor and maintain consistently high levels of service standards and quality across all areas
• To assist the Operational Team in the execution of each event
• To be responsible and accountable for the planning of all events throughout the Royal Botanic Gardens
• Become proficient in both the CRM system utilising it for event design and reporting
• Overall accountability for inputting and updating event sheets and invoicing client after the event

The Ideal Candidate

You will be a dynamic talented events specialist with a can-do attitude who thrives in delivering memorable experiences.  You will previously have worked in fast paced venues and therefore gained the ability to react quickly to change and have an inbuilt attention to detail and efficiency. 

You will have:

• The ability to build working relationships with internal and external clients
• Working knowledge of budgeting and forecasting and understand the costs associated with events
• A customer centric attitude and the desire to deliver the optimum service
• The ability to manage and motivate a team
• The flexibility to work 5 over 7 days including some weekends and evenings

Package Description

Salary £32,000 PLUS benefits

Work Pattern – 40 hrs pw 5/7
