Electrical Technician
Job Introduction

Role Responsibility
As an Electrical Technician you will be responsible for amongst other things:
- Lighting
- Power
- Distribution Boards
- Local Isolators
- Containment
- Temporary Installations
- New Installations
- Portable Appliance Testing
All work is to be carried out in a safe manner and to a high standard, conforming to the IEE Regulations/HTM requirements all statutory and legal requirements, particularly in relation to Health & Safety at Work Act and the IEE Regulations/HTM’s as well as site specific guidelines / requirements.
In addition to the above you be required to assist existing Sodexo team members and specialist subcontractors as and when required.

Essential Qualifications / Experience

Electricity at Work Regulations 1989

BS7671IEE 17th Edition Wiring Regulations

City and Guilds 2391-10 Inspection and Testing of Electrical Systems

Experience of Electrical maintenance / installations

Ability to use initiative and undertake core tasks independently

IT Literate
-
Technical expertise in specific area of work

Level 3 engineering maintenance or equivalent (NVQ)

Advanced fault finding and diagnostic skills

Good communications skills, ability to present engineering issues to staff and customer

Mentoring skills
Desirable Qualifications / Experience

Time served electrical apprenticeship

Portable Appliance Testing qualifications and experience

IPAF (Powered access licence)

City and Guilds 2396 Design Erection and Verification of Electrical Installations

HV/LV experience

COMPEX Hazardous Areas and Potentially Explosive Atmospheres (Modules EX01-EX04

Good understanding of engineering principles

Poses a good understanding of GMP regulations.

General building maintenance skills / experience
Must possess a proactive and can do attitude and a focus on safety.
