HMP Peterborough have an exciting opportunity for a Custody Administrator to join their busy and dynamic Custody Administration department.

HMP Peterborough is the country’s only purpose-built prison for both male and female prisoners. We are committed to offering education and development programmes to provide prisoners with the skills required to enter employment on release, so reducing the chances of further offending.

What You’ll Do:

Calculate prison sentence terms in line with legislation (full training provided)
Liaise with probation services regarding prisoners’ license conditions ahead of release
Assist in the coordination of necessary documentation to support the reception or release of prisoners
Communicate with outside organisations such the Parole Board, Social Services, Home Office, Police, Probation and the Courts
Assist with housing referrals
Other duties as outlined in the attached job description

The Custody Administration department is an exciting, interesting, and fast paced team to work within, giving you lots of exposure to many working aspects of the justice system. You will receive full training specific to the role - such as how to complete sentence calculations – and will also undertake the prison employee induction programme, where you will learn all about prison security, personal protection, keys and locks and more.

Experience of working in a similar administrative role (this is desirable, not essential)
