Cost Controller

Job Introduction

Sodexo are currently recruiting for a Cost Controller to be based at one of our client Site’s – Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire. This is a very high profile contract; you will take responsibility for the supervision of cost control, F&B back office systems; point of sale systems and prepare cost accounting reports for presentation to management. Role Responsibility

  • Responsible for the maintenance and capturing of all new products and items and their tariffs into EPOS, Adaco (stock system) and Trade Simple (F&B order system) along with required approval.
  • Monitoring discontinued items and deactivating them from the Adaco system.
  • Daily checking that all EPOS depletions have been processed into Adaco and that there are no errors.
  • Daily checking of Adaco error report to ensure negative balances are corrected.
  • Preparation of cycle counts with all outlets at month end.
  • Conduct spot checks on all outlets and stores during the counting process.
  • Verify and investigate all stock variances in conjunction with the Cellar Manager and Head Chef.
  • Reconciliation of all general ledger stock holding balance sheet accounts.  All reconciliations to be given to the Commercial Financial Manager on a monthly basis.
  • Processing of all month end procedures with regard to COS for all outlets.
  • Produce monthly cost of sales for food & beverage and reporting on COS variances.
  • Prepares monthly breakage/spoilage report and monitor expired and damaged stock from outlets. Check regularly the pending GRN’s and open PO’s and ensure that all goods received  and  invoices are entered in the system.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Solid demonstrable experience in a similar position
  • Excellent Excel and variance analysis skills
  • Good working knowledge of EPOS, Adaco or other stock control and point of sale systems.
  • Experience of producing and analysing stock management reports
  • Desirable to have knowledge of a high volume retail environment
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at senior levels

Other information

  • Weekend working will be required on Race Days and over Royal Ascot
