Catering Supervisor

Job Introduction

Role Responsibility

As a Catering Supervisoryou will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of and the serving of meals to customers to the required standard set by the client
  • Ensure that the kitchen and service areas are clean and tidy
  • Ensure all food and health and safety regulations are followed
  • Undertake accurate and timely stock taking, reconciliation of money and invoices
  • Completion of company documents
  • Usage of internal software for recording accounts
  • Oversee staff reporting into you
  • Manage workloads of yourself and staff
  • Prepare staff rota’s

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate for this role will have:

  • Catering and food production experience, ideally in a small to medium contract catering related environment
  • Good customer service and communication skills
  • The ability to demonstrate great team work and show the ability to follow instructions and supervise a small team
  • Good computer skills
  • Basic Food Hygiene and basic Health and Safety certificates are advantageous but not essential
  • Supervisory experience

Job Purpose

  1. To manage a small team of catering operatives to deliver a specific standard of food service to client specification 
  2. To be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of the cleaning operatives within your specified team. 
  3. To ensure customers receive a pleasant and friendly experience
  4. To manage any cash transactions, banking and stocktakes
  5. To become proficient on the e-prophIT, POS and BITE systems

Accountabilities or “What you have to do”

  1. Undertake all required training in relation to all aspects of the catering service delivered to the client, as requested.
  2. Undertake specific training on the relevant catering offer
  3. Always wear the company uniform, whilst at work
  4. Wear any items of Personal Protective Equipment, as specified by the manager
  5. Comply to all client policies / procedures in relation to housekeeping/infection control/ security
  6. Ensure that all requirements in relation to COSHH, HACCP and food Hygiene are adhered to, as specified by the catering manager
  7. Conduct all required training with catering operatives in relation to operational/ legal / client / food and beverage offer requirements
  8. Ensure that all catering operatives adhere to the catering codes of practices

     

  9. Ensure that all requirements of the specified catering offer, are carried out, as directed by the catering manager
  10. To attend to all faults in relation to catering machinery/equipment.
  11. To report all defects to the catering manager / GSM
  12. To deliver staff team briefings, as required
  13. To attend team / client meetings, as required 
  14. To collate information in relation to payroll, as required.
  15. To complete all administration, as specified by the catering manager
  16. To liaise with the specified client contact, as directed by the catering manager
  17. To manage the ordering and distribution of catering consumables and stocktakes    
  18. To undertake audits in relation to service delivery / offer compliance, as requested.
  19. To stand in for the catering manager in his/her absence
  20. To manage all risk assessments and allergy files
  21. To manage the vending operation
  22. To perform special promotion and drive up spend per head
