Catering Stores Person

Job Introduction

To provide excellent customer service from the receipt of deliveries, preparation, presentation and service of food and beverages to the client & Sodexo’s satisfaction.

Role Responsibility

  • To assist as directed with any aspects of preparation and presentation to the Company's standards
  • To provide an efficient and friendly service to customers in all areas of the catering department
  • To support the team in ensure that food is presented and served in a clean, hygienic environment
  • To assist at service times by serving the customer at the counter as directed, to the Company's standard
  • To complete all necessary sales controls and documentation for each service, as necessary and as required by your Team Leader
  • To communicate well with customers and demonstrate a helpful attitude at all times
  • To undertake all aspects of cleaning within the Catering department that includes the Stores area and the kitchen to include equipment, walls up to 6ft, floors, fixtures, fittings, pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, glassware etc., to the Company’s standard according to the cleaning rota or as directed
  • To load service counters as and when directed and to ensure sufficient supplies throughout the service period
  • To place orders by telephone as requested by Head Chef/Catering Manager/ Catering Co-Ordinators
  • Check deliveries and temperatures on deliveries and record correctly
  • Ensure stock rotation is correctly completed following each delivery
  • Cross check deliveries with order placed and inform Head Chef of any irregularities as matter of urgency
  •  Operate till during service periods
  • To deliver food and other supplies across the site as required, using the Company vehicles
  • To fulfil any reasonable management request
  • To attend/receive any job-related training as required

Additional Ad-hoc Duties:

  • To assist at any special functions, some of which may occur outside working hours
  • To report any customer complaints or compliments and take some remedial action if at all possible
  • To report immediately any incidents of accident, fire, theft, loss, damage, unfit food, or other irregularities and take such action as may be appropriate or possible
  • To attend meetings and training courses as may be necessary
  • To provide cover and support in other areas across the site as requested by the Catering managers / Co-ordinators / Head Chefs

The Ideal Candidate

  • Good communications skills, written and oral in English
  • Previous food handling / catering experience advantageous
  • Ability to adhere to all Health & Safety and Food Safety practices
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Flexible attitude
  • High levels of personal hygiene and appearance
  • Full driving license - essential
