Catering Assistant

About the role   
Hospital stays can be quite a stressful time for our patients and their loved ones, a simple smile and high quality meal can put a patient at ease and make all the difference!  

At Sodexo, we are passionate about food and we place our patients at the heart of everything we do.  To deliver a great service, we have a team of passionate Catering Assistants behind us and we are looking for grow our team.  
 
To keep our kitchens running like clock work, you will assist with food preparation and cleaning. You will ensure that the kitchen areas and equipment are always kept clean and hygienic at all times. 

With a focus on cleaning, you'll use the dishwasher to wash up the crockery and cutlery, always ensuring your work areas are glistening!  

A few things about you
This is a customer facing role so it’s important to have a positive, friendly attitude. You will work as part of a team and will need to have strong communication skills.  
 
Experience working in a similar industry (i.e. food service, catering or hospitality) would be great, but generally customer service and food handling experience will tick the box!  

If you have previous experience working in a cleaning team, that’s great! If not, but you have customer service experience and strong attention to detail, we still want to hear from you!
 
A general knowledge of health and safety procedures is also required, with knowledge of basic food hygiene and cleaning.  

Package Description

  • 12.5 hours per week
  • £9.50 per hour
  • 7.30am – 10.00am on a 5week rota - (working 2.5hrs per day)
  • Your 5week rolling rota would consist of: 6 days; 5 days; 4 days; 5 days; 5 days and then repeat.

Doncaster Royal Infirmary Park and Ride: Available for hospital staff, patients and visitors runs between Doncaster Racecourse, Car Park ‘A’ on Leger Way, Doncaster and DRI, South Block main outpatients area, Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) between 5.50am and 10.00pm. This service costs 50p per journey.
