Job Introduction

We are looking for a proactive and knowledgeable QHSE Advisor to support operational teams in delivering high standards of health, safety, food safety, environmental, and quality compliance across the contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HSE professional who enjoys working closely with site teams, driving a positive safety culture, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

What you’ll do

  • Provide day to day HSE advice and guidance to operational teams
  • Act as the point of contact for accidents and incidents, supporting investigations and reporting processes
  • Conduct site inspections and audits, including SMS checklist reviews for Health & Safety and Food Safety
  • Support teams with risk assessments and deliver risk assessment training
  • Assist with legislative and contractual compliance activities
  • Support the delivery and monitoring of Zero Harm Mindset training for new starters
  • Assist with HSE inductions for Heads of Department
  • Manage waste compliance processes and liaise with waste providers and site teams
  • Monitor defective infrastructure and equipment, ensuring issues are escalated and managed appropriately
  • Support food safety compliance, including agency chef onboarding and evidence collection for Food Hygiene certification
  • Assist with contractor management and HSE compliance
  • Review accident and incident investigations and ensure timely reporting through Salus systems
  • Act as a Superuser for SMS/Salus and waste systems, producing monthly reports and trend analysis
  • Prepare QHSE communications including safety alerts, quick shares, and seasonal campaigns
  • Support the QHSE Manager with initiatives focused on HSE, sustainability, and wellbeing
  • Communicate updates to QHSE policies, processes, and legislation
  • Support environmental and sustainability objectives across the contract

What you bring:

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)
  • Food Safety Level 3 qualification
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent relationship building skills with stakeholders at all levels
  • Problem solving skills with a proactive and solutions focused approach
  • Full clean driving licence

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a QHSE advisory role
  • Experience within food safety environments
  • NEBOSH Fire Safety Management qualification
