Join Sodexo as a Hospitality Food Service Assistant at Oasis Academy Woodview, where you’ll play an important role in supporting the school’s daily hospitality service.

This is a varied role for someone who has previous experience working in school catering and is confident preparing, serving and clearing hospitality events. The school hosts daily hospitality events, so you’ll be involved in ensuring food and refreshments are prepared and presented to a high standard, the service runs smoothly and areas are left clean and ready for the next event.

You’ll work closely with the Cook Manager as part of the catering team, helping to deliver a professional and welcoming hospitality service across the school.

About the Role

As a Hospitality Food Service Assistant, you will support the Cook Manager with the preparation, set-up, service and clear-down of daily hospitality events.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring hospitality areas are well presented and fully prepared, providing friendly and efficient service to customers and guests, and maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.

This role would suit someone who is already familiar with working in a school catering environment and understands the importance of safeguarding, food hygiene and delivering a professional service within a school setting.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and set up food and refreshments for daily hospitality events
• Serve food and beverages to staff, visitors and guests in a professional and friendly manner
• Work closely with the Cook Manager to ensure hospitality events run smoothly
• Assist with food preparation and presentation as required
• Set up hospitality areas, including tables, refreshments and service equipment
• Replenish food, drinks and service areas throughout events
• Clear down and clean hospitality areas following events
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the kitchen and hospitality areas
• Assist with deliveries, stock rotation and storing supplies appropriately
• Follow all food hygiene, health and safety and safeguarding procedures
• Provide a professional and welcoming service to customers, colleagues and visitors

What We’re Looking For

Previous school catering experience is essential for this role

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working in school catering
• Has experience preparing and serving food within a school or similar education environment
• Ideally has experience supporting hospitality, functions or events
• Is confident providing a friendly and professional service to staff, visitors and guests
• Has a positive, reliable and flexible approach to work
• Works well as part of a team and can follow instructions from the Cook Manager
• Has good organisation and attention to detail
• Understands the importance of food hygiene, cleanliness and safeguarding in a school environment
• Is comfortable working in a busy environment and managing multiple tasks

Additional Information

Term Time Only – Equated Pay

This role is Term Time Only and your salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments across 12 months, meaning you receive consistent pay throughout the year, including during school closure periods.
