Job Introduction

We're looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to join our Government & Energy Property Professional Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of integrated facilities management services across a diverse multi-site estate throughout Northern Ireland.

You'll play a key role in ensuring our client sites remain safe, compliant and fully operational, managing planned, reactive and cyclical maintenance activities while leading contractor performance and building strong client relationships.

This is a varied role that combines technical expertise, stakeholder management and operational leadership, making it ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, driving continuous improvement and delivering high quality facilities management services.

What you’ll do

  • Manage the delivery of planned, reactive, cyclical and emergency maintenance across multiple sites.
  • Coordinate contractors and specialist suppliers, ensuring work is completed safely, on time and to the required quality standards.
  • Oversee maintenance planning, including annual shutdowns and major maintenance activities.
  • Monitor contractor performance against service level agreements and KPIs.
  • Manage maintenance work orders through CAFM systems, ensuring accurate records and timely completion.
  • Act as Responsible Person (RP) for designated compliance areas, such as Legionella, ensuring statutory obligations are met.
  • Review compliance documentation, service reports and statutory certification to maintain audit-ready records.
  • Support contract performance reporting, budget management and financial approvals.
  • Carry out regular site inspections to monitor service delivery, compliance and asset condition.
  • Build positive working relationships with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery and operational performance.

What you bring:

Essential

  • A qualification in Engineering or Facilities Management equivalent to NVQ Level 4 or above.
  • A tradesperson or higher professional background in disciplines such as Building, Structural/Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience managing facilities management or building maintenance services across multiple sites.
  • Proven experience managing contractors and supply chain partners.
  • Strong understanding of statutory compliance, health and safety and risk management.
  • Experience using CAFM, CMMS or other facilities management systems.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands and manage multiple workstreams effectively.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout Northern Ireland.

Please note: Successful candidates must have continuously resided in the UK for the past five years and be willing to undergo the required security vetting.

Desirable

  • Membership of a relevant professional body (IWFM, CIOB, RICS, CIBSE, CIAT or equivalent).
  • NEC4 awareness.
  • SSSTS, NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent contractor supervision qualification.
  • Experience acting as a Responsible Person within a technical compliance discipline.
