This is a fantastic opportunity to join a new Sodexo site from August, where the existing catering team will transfer across under TUPE arrangements, offering a smooth transition into a well-established operation.

About the Role

As a General Catering Assistant, you'll play an important role in delivering high-quality food service while maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, food safety, and customer care.

You'll be a front-line ambassador for Sodexo, providing a professional, friendly, and welcoming service to pupils, staff, and visitors, while helping to create a positive dining experience every day.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with the preparation, presentation, and serving of food and beverages
  • Ensure all allergen procedures are followed to always keep customers safe
  • Support food service operations while maintaining excellent standards of hygiene
  • Serve customers in a friendly and professional manner, following portion control standards
  • Replenish service counters and food displays throughout the service period
  • Assist with receiving deliveries, checking temperatures, and storing stock correctly
  • Clean kitchen equipment, work surfaces, floors, fixtures, and fittings in line with cleaning schedules
  • Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and food safety compliance
  • Report customer feedback, incidents, or any food safety concerns promptly
  • Support special events and functions as required
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an excellent catering service

Desirable

  • Previous catering or food service experience
  • Food Hygiene qualification
  • Customer service experience

An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this role
