We're looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable Food Service Assistant to join our team at Solent University. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive catering team that serves students, staff and visitors every day.
Based in the heart of Southampton, Solent University offers a vibrant and diverse community. As a Food Service Assistant, you'll play an important role in providing great food, excellent service and a welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.

Previous experience in catering, hospitality, retail, coffee shops, restaurants, cafés or food service would be beneficial,
What You’ll Do
- Preparing food service counters and coffee stations ready for service
- Producing hot and cold drinks to brand standards
- Serving customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Operating tills, handling cash and processing payments accurately
- Assisting with stock replenishment and stock checks
- Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
- Completing temperature checks and food safety records
- Washing up and supporting kitchen operations as required
- Ensuring all dining, serving and preparation areas are clean, tidy and welcoming
- Working as part of a team to deliver an excellent customer experience
