Job Introduction
We're looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Food Service Assistant to join our team at HMRC Glasgow, Queensway House. You'll help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming catering environment while supporting the kitchen and café with food service, cleaning, stock handling, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen, café, dining areas, and pot wash.
- Support food service by replenishing catering stations and assisting customers.
- Receive, check, and store deliveries using stock rotation procedures.
- Operate the till and follow cash handling procedures (training provided).
- Monitor food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
- Report maintenance issues and hazards promptly.
- Assist with general catering duties and support the wider team as required.
What We’re Looking For
- A positive attitude and excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to high cleaning and hygiene standards.
- Previous catering or cleaning experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
