About the role
Position: Food Production Operative / Cook at Sodexo,
RAF Brize Norton, Carterton, OX18 3LX.
As a Cook in a café or digital food operation, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role involves preparing and cooking pre-ordered meals, ensuring consistency, presentation, and food safety standards are met. You will play a key role in maintaining smooth kitchen operations while supporting a modern, technology-driven service model.
What you’ll do
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of food items in line with recipe cards and cooking methods
- Manage and fulfil all orders
- Ensure food is prepared quickly and accurately to meet service time targets
- Monitor stock levels, rotate ingredients, and ensure proper storage following food safety regulations
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and food preparation areas
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including HACCP procedures
- Minimise food waste and control portion sizes to maintain cost efficiency
- Assist with deliveries, checking quality and storing stock correctly
- Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
- Maintain kitchen equipment and report faults or maintenance issues promptly
What we’re looking for
Essential
Experience in a similar role within the service industry at a comparable level
One of the following qualifications (or equivalent):
BSc (Catering)
MHCIM
HND
City & Guilds 706/1 and 2
NVQ Level 2 or 3
Knowledge of health and safety regulations
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standards precisely
Desirable
Experience working within a military environment
IOSH qualification (or equivalent)
Experience in a customer-facing role
CIEH Level 2 qualification (or equivalent)
