We are seeking a dedicated Food Production Assistant to be an integral part of our dynamic catering team. In this role, you will deliver a wide range of high quality services to patients, visitors, and staff, ensuring a memorable and positive experience for all.
Collaborating closely with both the catering department and ward based teams, you will play a key role in maintaining efficient and effective service delivery. We are committed to excellence in customer care, and your contribution will help us uphold the highest standards of hospitality and service.

What you’ll do

  • Experience in bulk food service at ward level and adherence to food safety standards
  • Proficiency in completing and maintaining accurate meal service documentation, including temperature records and cleaning schedules
  • Skilled in wash up procedures, including mechanical dishwashing and hand washing of equipment
  • Ability to efficiently set up and clean trolleys, and maintain equipment and service areas in line with safety protocols
  • Strong understanding of onsite delivery and collection of ward level food items and associated documentation
  • Knowledge of reporting mechanical defects and coordinating repairs with the duty supervisor
  • Commitment to adhering to health and safety legislation and completing all required training and certifications

  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to achieve performance criteria, with particular regard to hygiene
  • Positive approach to learning in role
  • Self motivated
  • Able to use own initiative
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Previous experience in a catering environment
