Floor Captain

York - Part time

What you'll do

  • Deliver a professional and welcoming 5-star customer service experience to all building users and visitors.
  • Act as the first point of contact for facilities support, resolving queries efficiently and professionally.
  • Support meeting room technology, including troubleshooting connection issues and assisting with room set-up.
  • Ensure meeting rooms are fully operational, correctly prepared, and maintained to a high standard.
  • Conduct regular floor walks to monitor service delivery and maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment.
  • Monitor and replenish stationery hubs, vending areas, and consumables within allocated spaces.
  • Provide hospitality support and clear-down services in line with hygiene and legislative standards.
  • Assist with onboarding and induction support for new building users.
  • Report faults, maintenance issues, and service concerns promptly to the relevant teams.
  • Promote site rules and support customers in following building procedures and safety requirements.
  • Build positive working relationships with customers, contractors, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Provide flexible support across facilities services, including occasional cleaning duties when required.

  • A proactive, positive, and can-do attitude with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently using initiative, as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using workplace technology and office systems.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high service standards.
  • Resilience and adaptability when managing changing priorities and customer needs.
  • Professional, reliable, and trustworthy approach to all responsibilities.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and escalate appropriately.
  • Flexible and hands-on approach to supporting facilities and workplace operations.
