At Sodexo, we’re passionate about our people. We know that our teams are the key to delivering exceptional service and creating meaningful experiences for our clients, customers, and employees.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Facilities Manager to join our team and play a key role in driving excellence and innovation within our Facilities Management team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Facilities Management professional to lead the delivery of hard and soft FM services. You will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, contractual compliance, stakeholder engagement, lifecycle planning, and the effective leadership of on-site teams, helping to create safe, efficient, and high-performing educational facilities.

As a Facilities Manager you'll

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day delivery of all hard and soft FM services, ensuring high standards of service, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage and develop on-site service delivery teams, providing leadership, coaching, performance management, and operational support.
  • Own and manage Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules, lifecycle replacement programmes, and associated budgets.
  • Act as the primary operational point of contact for client representatives and key stakeholders, building strong and productive relationships.
  • Ensure contractual obligations and service level agreements are consistently achieved across all service lines.
  • Manage reactive maintenance activities, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and in line with contract requirements.
  • Coordinate contractors, site inductions, permits-to-work and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) processes.
  • Drive Health & Safety compliance through toolbox talks, safety walks, risk management, and near-miss reporting.
  • Monitor lifecycle and operational expenditure, ensuring budgets are effectively controlled and reported.
  • Prepare operational reports, performance updates, and improvement plans to support continuous service enhancement.
  • Scope, estimate, and oversee minor works projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specification.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and best practice across the contract.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience in Facilities Management, ideally within PPP/PFI, education, public sector, or multi-service FM environments.
  • Demonstrable experience managing both hard and soft FM services, including maintenance, cleaning, grounds, and contractor management.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with experience leading operational teams in a customer-facing environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and Safe Systems of Work processes.
  • Experience managing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes, lifecycle projects, and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and manage contractual obligations and service performance requirements.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience monitoring budgets, expenditure, and project costs.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the confidence to engage at all levels.
  • Highly organised with strong planning, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Relevant Facilities Management qualification (IWFM/BIFM, NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent) would be advantageous.
  • A proactive, customer-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance operational priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

Sodexo and our clients are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults within a regulated activity. This role might require applicants to undergo screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Garda Vetting.
