Job Introduction

At Heritage Portfolio, we create memorable experiences in extraordinary settings and we’re looking for an Event Manager who thrives on the energy of live events, loves the detail behind seamless delivery, and knows how to turn great planning into standout guest experiences. Based at the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh, you’ll lead the coordination and delivery of a busy and varied events programme, managing everything from client planning and staffing to suppliers, service flow, and on-the-day execution. This is a hands-on role for someone who can juggle multiple events, keep standards high, inspire teams, and bring fresh ideas that elevate both service and food experience.

What You'll Do:

  • Ensure all planning, operational and kitchen service delivery functions for the venue are in place and to the right standard
  • Manage all quality control measures, Health & Safety and Hygiene systems to the desired standard of Heritage Portfolio in line with the tasking allocated by Operations Manager
  • To understand and articulate service offers to venue clients, customers and the Heritage Portfolio team
  • To lead innovation and service styles that drive positive PR, positive client feedback
  • To play an active part within the wider events team – contribute to team activities, discussions and decisions to grow and improve the Heritage Portfolio business
  • To work closely with the clients on the planning of their event, ensuring all linen and equipment is in place in line with client expectations.
  • To ensure the correct staffing levels in line with event requirements and budget.

What You Bring:

  • A passionate interest in the catering industry – knowledge of current trend and interest in the hospitality world
  • 1 years’ experience in a high-volume catering environment
  • Ability to craft communication plan to key stakeholders
  • Evidence of ability to create and adhere to project delivery plan
  • Ability to produce accurate work to tight deadlines under pressure
  • Ability to competently use MS desktop applications – Excell, Teams email Word etc
  • Ability to motivate a team of mixed abilities and personalities
  • Proven record of managing a front of house team of managers and floor staff
