We're looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Healthcare Estates team, at Sodexo, Queen Mary's Hospital. Helping to maintain a safe, compliant and efficient hospital environment. In this role, you'll support the operation of critical electrical infrastructure across the healthcare estate, ensuring essential services remain available to patients, staff and visitors at all times.
Working within a highly regulated environment, you'll carry out planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, support statutory compliance activities and contribute to the reliable operation of building services systems. Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a range of electrical building services systems.
Diagnose faults, undertake repairs and restore services safely and efficiently.
Maintain and support electrical infrastructure including LV distribution systems, switchgear, emergency lighting, generators, UPS systems and associated equipment.
Ensure all work is completed in line with statutory regulations, healthcare technical standards (HTMs), site procedures and safe systems of work.
Support compliance activities by maintaining accurate maintenance records, service reports and documentation.
Participate in permit-to-work, isolation and safety management processes.
Work closely with Estates colleagues, clinical teams and specialist contractors to minimise disruption and maintain service continuity
Assist with minor projects, lifecycle replacement works, testing and commissioning activities.
Identify risks, plant condition issues and opportunities for improvement, escalating concerns where appropriate.
Contribute to a culture of safety, compliance and continuous improvement across the hospital estate.
Relevant HTM & Electrical Qualifications level 3
18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
Proven experience maintaining and repairing electrical building services systems in a healthcare, critical environment or similarly regulated setting.
Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Good knowledge of electrical safety standards, statutory compliance requirements and safe systems of work.
Experience working with planned and reactive maintenance programmes within a live operational environment.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and engineering documentation.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across a multi disciplinary environment.
A proactive, safety-focused approach with strong organisational and record-keeping abilities.
Desirable: HTM Level 3 training, inspection and testing qualifications, healthcare estates experience, CAFM system experience and exposure to critical infrastructure such as generators, IPS and UPS systems.
