About the role

As the Deputy Account Director, you will play a central role in driving the strategic, commercial and operational success of our UK&I client portfolio. Reporting directly to the Account Director, you will provide essential client, market and competitive insight to inform decision‑making and ensure our account strategies align with broader business and sector priorities.

In this role, you will help lead the development and delivery of account growth plans, ensuring key programmes, campaigns and initiatives are executed effectively and deliver measurable impact. You will oversee the coordination, management and quality assurance of workstreams across your accounts, supporting the delivery of best‑in‑class client service while proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen relationships and expand our remit.

Main Responsibilities

  • Client & Market Insight: Provide strategic client, market and competitor insight to inform account direction and strengthen decision‑making
  • Account Planning & Alignment: Support the development of annual account plans, identifying growth opportunities, shaping strategic initiatives and ensuring alignment with client and agency objectives
  • Programme & Campaign Leadership: Oversee the delivery of key campaigns and workstreams, ensuring outputs meet strategic goals, performance KPIs and quality standards
  • High‑Impact Projects: Partner with senior client and agency stakeholders on priority projects, managing complexity and influencing outcomes to drive account success
  • Client Engagement & Change Leadership: Champion clear communication, stakeholder alignment and strong engagement across all client programmes, ensuring smooth delivery and adoption of new initiatives
  • Commercial & Business Management: Support financial management, forecasting, reporting and governance to ensure account profitability and operational excellence
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide account teams, fostering capability, collaboration and continuous improvement across the client service function

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experienced Client Leader: Brings substantial experience managing complex accounts within a B2B or agency environment, with a strong track record of driving growth and delivering high‑quality programmes
  • Commercially Strong: Combines sharp commercial acumen with deep understanding of client needs, market dynamics and competitive pressures
  • Strategic & Resilient: Confident, empathetic and resilient when navigating demanding client environments, able to translate strategic objectives into clear, actionable plans
  • Influential Communicator: Builds trust quickly, manages senior stakeholders effectively and guides cross‑functional teams with clarity and authority
  • Collaborative Partner: Comfortable leading collaborative efforts across strategy, creative, delivery and commercial teams to ensure alignment behind shared goals
  • Calm & Structured: Thrives in fast‑paced environments, bringing structure, foresight and sound judgement to complex challenges
