Hours: 30 per week / 4 days in 7
Salary: £14.05 per hour

As a Chef with Sodexo at Wythenshawe Hospital, you’ll play an important part in delivering great-quality meals in a busy healthcare environment.

This is more than simply preparing food. The meals you produce help support patients during their time in hospital, so quality, consistency and attention to individual dietary requirements really matter.

You’ll work as part of our catering team to prepare and serve meals to the required standards and timescales, maintaining excellent levels of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness throughout.

What you’ll do:

• Prepare, cook and present high-quality meals in line with Sodexo and client standards.
• Help ensure meals are ready for service at the required times.
• Cater for special dietary requirements for patients, following the appropriate guidance and procedures.
• Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene, kitchen cleanliness and personal hygiene.
• Complete necessary food safety records and temperature checks.
• Follow agreed portion sizes and support effective portion control.
• Support menu planning, ordering and kitchen rotas where required.
• Build positive working relationships with colleagues and customers.
• Follow all relevant health, safety and infection prevention procedures within the hospital environment.
• Take responsibility during agreed weekend Chef duties, including acting as the key decision-maker when required.

What you bring:

• A recognised Chef qualification and practical kitchen experience.
• A good understanding of food hygiene, health and safety and relevant legislation.
• The ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.
• Good communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
• The confidence to organise resources effectively and support colleagues when required.
• A real passion for food and the ability to bring creativity and flair to the food you produce.
• A reliable, professional approach and the ability to work well within a busy team.
