Hours: 12.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday–Friday, 11am-14.30pm - must be flexible.
Contract: Term Time Only – 38 weeks, Permanent, Part Time

This is a varied role where you’ll not only support food preparation and service at St Benedict's, but also travel to a nearby school to support with food service, washing up and general cleaning.

Please note: A full UK driving licence is essential for this role, as you will be required to drive a Sodexo vehicle/van between school sites.

About the Role

As a Catering Assistant, you’ll support the day-to-day running of the catering operation at St Benedict's Catholic High School and provide support at St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Broadway.

You’ll assist with preparing and serving food, help keep the kitchen and dining areas clean and organised, and drive between the two school sites to support the catering service as required.

You’ll work as part of a supportive team delivering great service while maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety and cleanliness.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with the preparation and serving of food and beverages at St Benedict's Catholic High School
• Drive a Sodexo van between St Benedict's Catholic High School, Alcester and St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Broadway
• Support with food service and washing up at St Mary's Catholic Primary School
• Assist with the transportation of food and catering supplies between school sites
• Maintain clean, safe and hygienic kitchen and dining areas
• Carry out general cleaning duties across the catering areas
• Replenish food displays and service counters as required
• Support deliveries and store supplies appropriately
• Follow food hygiene, health and safety and safeguarding procedures
• Provide a friendly and helpful service to pupils, customers, colleagues and visitors
• Work flexibly across both school sites to support the smooth running of the catering operation

What We’re Looking For

• A full UK driving licence is essential
• A positive and reliable attitude
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Good organisation and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a busy environment and prioritise tasks
• Willingness to travel between school sites as part of the role
• Comfortable carrying out food service, washing up and general cleaning duties
• Previous catering or food service experience is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided

Additional Information

Term Time Only – Equated Pay
This role works 38 weeks per year. Your salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments across 12 months, meaning you receive consistent pay throughout the year, including during school closure periods.
