As a Casual FLT Driver with Sodexo, you'll enhance the services of our vibrant corporate site, offering a helping hand to ensure flawless facilities operations and keep things running smoothly.

What you'll do

• Collect and transport a variety of waste streams, including manufacturing, domestic, and recyclable waste from across the site.
• Operate a Forklift Truck (FLT) and other waste handling equipment safely and efficiently to support daily operations.
• Carry out daily safety and operational checks on forklifts and waste equipment, reporting any faults promptly.
• Operate compactors, balers, and other waste management equipment in line with safe working procedures.
• Ensure waste is correctly segregated and disposed of in accordance with site procedures and environmental standards.
• Support the site's recycling initiatives by encouraging sustainable waste management practices.
• Keep the waste yard, waste bins, and surrounding areas clean, tidy, and safe, including litter picking and general housekeeping.
• Move materials, waste containers, and equipment safely around the site.
• Liaise with waste contractors to coordinate skip exchanges and support the servicing of compactors and balers.
• Work closely with site waste teams to ensure effective communication and smooth day-to-day operations.
• Identify and report hazards, equipment faults, fire risks, and incorrect waste disposal, helping to maintain a safe working environment.
• Follow all Health & Safety, COSHH, environmental, and company procedures while maintaining high standards of housekeeping and PPE compliance.

What you'll bring

• A valid Forklift Truck (FLT) Licence is essential.
• Previous experience in waste management, manufacturing, logistics, industrial, or facilities management is desirable.
• Experience operating forklifts, compactors, balers, or other waste handling equipment.
• Good understanding of waste segregation, recycling, and environmental best practices.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, contractors, and customers.
• A proactive, reliable, and safety-conscious approach to work.
• Good awareness of Health & Safety, COSHH, and safe systems of work.
• The ability to work independently while managing your own workload and supporting the wider team.
• Basic IT skills and the ability to complete operational records where required.
• A flexible attitude with a willingness to support changing operational priorities.
• A commitment to delivering excellent customer service while maintaining high operational standards.
