Job Introduction

Sodexo believes that government agencies should foster an environment of respect, operating with efficiency and effectiveness to promote productivity. We prioritize employee well-being and play a vital role in fostering stronger communities.

We are looking for two CAD Technicians to support the digital development of a unique and complex government estate.

In this role, you’ll maintain accurate drawings, spatial data, asset records and BIM information while supporting the development of Digital Twins and wider digital transformation initiatives. Your work will ensure building data is reliable and accessible, helping teams make informed decisions about estate planning, investment and long-term management.

This is a hands-on, tech-focused role where attention to detail and collaboration will play an important part in shaping the future of the estate.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a CAD Technician, you will:

  • Create, amend and maintain accurate 2D CAD drawings in line with established standards.
  • Support the development and maintenance of 3D BIM models and Digital Twins.
  • Work with point clouds, scanned surveys and BIM data to build accurate digital representations of estate buildings.
  • Maintain and upload drawings and asset data into the CAFM system, ensuring asset registers and space coding remain accurate.
  • Integrate outputs from surveys including condition, spatial, functional suitability and environmental data into digital systems.
  • Collect, verify and manage asset data using Excel and site surveys to support Asset Managers.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Asset Management, Projects, Maintenance and Commercial teams to provide CAD and data support.
  • Produce visuals, reports and analysis to support reporting and stakeholder engagement.
  • Conduct regular site visits to validate building layouts and asset information.
  • Contribute to compliance, lifecycle planning and estate transformation initiatives.
  • Share best practice and continue developing your skills within the Asset Management community of practice.

What you bring

  • Accurate digital estate records – up-to-date 2D drawings, BIM models, spatial layouts and asset registers trusted across the contract.
  • Reliable space and utilisation data that reflects how buildings are actually used.
  • High-quality, well-managed data stored within CAFM systems, Excel and reporting tools.
  • Strong collaboration with colleagues, surveyors and stakeholders to deliver drawings, data and visuals when needed.
  • A positive contribution to digital estate transformation, supporting compliance, sustainability and future-ready spaces.
  • A recognised AutoCAD qualification, ideally within a built environment discipline.
  • Experience working with complex, multi-layered CAD drawings.
  • Strong understanding of CAD standards and quality assurance processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including handling and analysing large datasets.
  • Knowledge of BIM processes and standards (ideally BIM Level 2).
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail with a methodical approach to work.
  • Strong organisation and planning skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Good communication skills to build positive working relationships with colleagues, contractors, consultants and clients.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly for site visits.

What Would Be Great to Have (Desirable)

  • AutoCAD experience gained within estates, facilities management or construction environments.
  • Experience using CAFM systems to manage drawings and asset data.
  • Understanding of facilities management, building assets and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of lifecycle planning and reporting for large estates.
  • Confidence using digital tools and systems, with a willingness to learn new technologies quickly.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to work on a large and complex estate, helping shape how digital data and technology support smarter estate management. You will be part of a collaborative team focused on innovation, digital transformation and long-term sustainability.

Your work will have a direct impact on how the estate is planned, maintained and improved for the future.
