Job Introduction
The Asset Lead is responsible for leading the integrity, governance, and optimisation of asset data, while supporting the strategic management of assets across the HMRC West contract.
Working closely with the Asset Manager, the successful candidate will support the full lifecycle management of assets, including condition-based strategies, lifecycle planning, and long-term investment decisions. The role ensures that asset data, systems, and processes are robust, compliant, and aligned with Sodexo standards, statutory requirements, and client expectations.
The Asset Lead will play a key role in maintaining a safe, compliant, and reliable asset base, enabling operational continuity, risk mitigation, and informed decision-making. The role will also deputise for the Asset Manager where required, providing continuity of leadership and technical oversight.
What you’ll do
- Maintain and improve the asset register, ensuring data accuracy and compliance
- Support asset lifecycle planning, forecasting, and condition-based strategies
- Manage and validate asset data within CAFM systems
- Coordinate asset surveys, inspections, and condition assessments
- Maintain asset documentation, certifications, and compliance records
- Produce asset reports, dashboards, and performance insights
- Liaise with operational teams, contractors, and suppliers regarding asset information
- Identify and escalate asset-related risks and compliance issues
- Support continuous improvement of asset management processes and systems
- Deputise for the Asset Manager when required
What you bring
Qualifications & Knowledge
- Strong experience working with asset management systems (CAFM) and asset registers
- Good understanding of asset lifecycle management and condition-based maintenance principles
- Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements within a technical services or facilities management environment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting/data analysis tools
Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting lifecycle planning and asset performance analysis
- Excellent attention to detail and data governance skills
- Ability to interpret asset data and provide actionable insights
- Experience working collaboratively with operational, technical, and compliance teams
- Strong organisational and planning skills within a multi-site environment
- Ability to work independently and support leadership activities
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and compliance standards

Desirable
- Qualification in Asset Management, Engineering, or Facilities Management
- Experience working within a public sector or government contract
- Knowledge of ISO 55001 asset management principles
- Experience supporting lifecycle modelling, capital planning, or asset strategies
- Experience producing dashboards, MI, or performance reporting
- Understanding of statutory compliance frameworks including LOLER, PUWER, Gas, and Electrical compliance
