About the role

Architect

Bring your ideas to life. Help shape the future of an estate across Northern Ireland.

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00
  • Competitive salary plus operational bonus
  • Sodexo rewards and benefits

Ready to see where your architectural expertise could take you?

From exploring a site’s potential to developing plans that inform its future, this is an opportunity to put your creativity and technical skills to work across a large, complex and varied estate.

Join Sodexo as an Architect and help shape spaces that respond to changing needs. You’ll contribute to projects that support the modernisation of the estate, improve how buildings are used and lay the foundations for future investment.

Working alongside the Senior Architect/Manager, in-house architectural colleagues and external design teams, you’ll gain exposure to the bigger picture of estate planning while contributing practical ideas, designs and solutions.

Why join us?

If you enjoy variety, collaboration and getting to grips with new challenges, there’s plenty here to engage you. You’ll work across different sites and project stages, build relationships with clients and technical specialists, and develop your experience in strategic estate planning.

It’s an opportunity to bring fresh thinking, learn from experienced colleagues and see how your work helps turn long-term ambitions into deliverable projects.

What you’ll do

  • Explore what’s possible: prepare feasibility studies, viability assessments and presentation materials that help clients make informed decisions.
  • Shape future plans: contribute to estate strategies, area plans and site masterplans.
  • Understand how spaces work: assess building and site use, identifying how well they meet operational needs, condition and functional suitability and using your findings to inform future plans.
  • Bring ideas into focus: produce architectural drawings, reports and supporting information that clearly communicate proposals.
  • Prepare projects for their next stage: help develop project blueprints and dossiers to support future delivery.
  • Collaborate and contribute: work with in-house professionals, clients and external Integrated Design Teams, sharing ideas and solving problems together.
  • Maintain high standards: support the development of design guidance and ensure your work meets statutory requirements, the RIBA Plan of Work and the Sodexo Project Management Framework.

What you’ll bring

You’re an architect who combines creative thinking with attention to detail. You enjoy understanding a brief, exploring options and working with others to develop practical solutions.

You’ll need:

  • A degree and postgraduate qualification (Diploma or MSc) in Architecture.
  • Current registration with the Architects Registration Board (ARB).
  • At least three years’ post-qualification experience.
  • Working knowledge of Northern Ireland planning and building regulations and processes.
  • An understanding of estate strategy and site masterplanning principles.
  • Experience preparing architectural drawings, reports and presentations.
  • Proficiency in architectural software including Revit (preferred), AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Northern Ireland.

Chartered membership of RIBA is desirable

Security requirements

Successful candidates must have lived continuously in the UK for the past five years and must be willing and able to undergo the required security clearance and vetting process.
