Head of Cost Management

Job Introduction

To lead the Cost Management team comprising of commercial assistants and quantity surveyors undertaking the validation of contractor costs ensuring for reactive, planned and programmed activity ensuring commercial rigour to a variable client base.

Role Responsibility

  • Ensure operational processes support client requirements and key deliverables.
  • Develop customer relationships in line with operational business need
  • Ensure contractual obligations are delivered and sustained
  • Ensure client satisfaction with agreed outcomes and best practice methodology
  • Verification and agreement with client of savings/benefits delivered
  • Active client management including formal reporting and informal relationship management and development
  • Internal colleague relationship management and opportunity development
  • Weekly reporting in agreed format
  • Monthly BU reporting (via the scorecard)
  • Ensure full audit trail in place to satisfy internal, and external auditors (Sodexo or Client)
  • Provision of financial analyses to Contract Team and to client
  • Provision of KPIs relating to contract execution
  • Liaison with other Managers on financial performance and associated aspects of Service Line contracts

The Ideal Candidate

  • Sufficient and relevant experience within a property environment.
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven track record in managing client costs for Planed, Reactive and project activity.
  • IT Skills – Good working knowledge of MS Office
  • Inquisitive by nature, able to challenge the norm and seeks to drive improvement.
  • Analytical thinking
  • Organised – ability to plan, prioritise and delegate where required.
