Facilities Operative
Job Introduction
HMP Bronzefield are currently recruiting for a Facilities Operative.
You will be required to support the FM Maintenance Team in meeting service level agreements and the implementation of new policies , procedures and service enhancements within the establishment.
Awarded a bronze accreditation by Investors in People, HMP YOI Bronzefield focuses on providing needs-based services and programmes aimed at rehabilitating and maintaining the well-being of prisoners.
HMP YOI Bronzefield is an all female prison that can hold up to 527 women.
Sodexo Justice Services delivers custodial and community rehabilitation services that challenge offending behaviour, protect the public and offer individuals the opportunity to change their lives for the better. We deliver the total operation of five prisons within England, Scotland and Wales and own six Community Rehabilitation Companies in partnership with crime reduction charity Nacro.
Role Responsibility
- Complete assigned PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenace) works
- Attend to assigned reactive / small works requests (eg. minor repairs to building fabric, affixing pictures / noticeboards, unblocking sinks, changing lamps, gutter clearance, hedge trimming, lawn mowing, changing HVAC filters, snow clearance, gritting, etc).
- Support project works
- Escort contractors
- Conduct routine inspections of designated areas within the Prison to identity defects and Health and safety concerns and resolve or escalate as appropriate
- Assist trade qualified staff in tasks as required
- Use the computerised Servicedesk system to manage reactive work requests
- Provide assistance as required within other teams in the FM Department on an ad-hoc basis
- Attend site out of hours when on call out duty (typically for one week in every seven).
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience of general maintenance in a corporate environment
- Good working knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation relevant to property maintenance
- Ability to work individually and take ownership of tasks to completion
- Good communication skills

Package Description
£18,994.68 to £22,838.00 dependent on experience + London Weighting £287.75pm recurring
