We are seeking experienced and highly skilled Prison Custody Officers to join our team at HMP Addiewell. We have recently had a large intake of new enthusiastic officers ready to make a difference, positively shape the live of prisoners and embark on their new career. We are currently seeking skilled and capable officers to contribute to making that impactful difference.
As an experienced Prison Custody Officer (PCO), you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, security, and order within the prison environment. Your exceptional judgement, professionalism, and ability to effectively manage challenging situations will contribute to ensuring a secure and rehabilitative atmosphere for both colleagues and prisoners.
Main Responsibilities:
- Utilize your extensive experience to supervise and control prisoner activities, ensuring accountability and safety at all times.
- Act as a Key Worker, leveraging your expertise to support prisoners in their rehabilitation journey through positive role modelling.
- Apply your seasoned judgment to maintain high standards of security.
- Draw on your reporting skills to produce detailed, objective reports on prisoners as required.
- Respond effectively to incidents, utilizing your expertise in taking control of situations.
- Contribute your wealth of experience to actively participate in rehabilitation programs and workshops, guiding prisoners towards positive outcomes.
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven and substantial experience as a Prison Custody Officer.
- Able to showcase your strong interpersonal skills, including assertiveness and self-motivation.
- Leverage your skills in challenging inappropriate behaviour and your acute attention to detail.
- Prove your ability to work independently or as part of a team, maintaining the highest standards.
- Exhibit excellent communication and people skills, showcasing your capacity to remain professional under pressure.
- Be reliable, punctual, and committed to setting a positive example based on your extensive background.
