We have a vacancy for you to join our busy team as a Trainee Chef at our stunning training college Newbold Revel - CV23 0TH
As a Trainee Chef, you’ll be responsible for helping the team in maintaining the highest standard in the preparation, presentation and service of food, within the company standards and the contract specifications.

Ideally you’ll need to have:
· NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
· Food and Hygiene and Health and Safety Certificates - Level 2/3
Please note Site is quite remote so driving to site may be essential. There is free parking for all staff members
There would be very occasional weekend work required - planned and notified in advance for weekend events. This would be no more than a handful of events over the year

Role Responsibility
- You will plan, prepare, and serve all meals at the required times, and to high quality and nutritional standards, showing real passion and care for the service you provide.
- Whilst preparing food, you will do so with due care and attention to special dietary requirements and allergen issues, ensuring attention is also paid to stock levels to ensure the efficient running of the kitchen
- You will assist in implementing the service for all hospitality related activities, including production, service, and clear-down, ensuring adherence to cleanliness and hygiene standards at all times.
- You will be responsible for conducting all your activities in a safe manner by always wearing all required PPE, following all relevant Sodexo processes and procedures
- You will be responsible for reporting any safety issues, faulty equipment, or other areas of concern
The Ideal Candidate
- Will be able to work well to time pressures, whilst delivering excellent, wholesome meals.
- Will have the ability to set and achieve high standards, and operate to performance criteria, with regard to hygiene and budgets.
- Will have a real passion and understanding of the important nature of the work they deliver.
- Will have good interpersonal skills and the ability to verbally communicate effectively with all other site personnel, in a polite and courteous manner.
- Will have a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or a background in a similar role
Package Description
40 hours per week over four days
£12.50 per hour
Monday - Thursday 10am-8pm
