Job Title: Switchboard Operator and Postroom Assistant

Location: HMP Forest Bank, Agecroft Road, Salford
Company: Sodexo
Salary: £24,241.13 rising to £25,050.85 after 1 years service
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Purpose of the Job:

The Switchboard Operator and Postroom Assistant will manage the switchboard system from 9:00 AM to 4:15 PM during the working week and assist with sorting and opening mail to ensure timely processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer all incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate department.

  • Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with callers and visitors.

  • Ensure all mail, including prisoner correspondence, is sorted and processed by the end of the day.

  • Assist with any additional postroom-related duties.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in administrative or customer service roles.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
