Essex CRC are currently recruiting for a Support Worker based in Colchester. You will work with a range of colleagues and partners supporting the work of reducing reoffending and providing a service to community teams.

Role Responsibility

  • Provide specific one to one support to a member of Essex CRC staff, as appropriate.
  • Access databases to gather information, data input and check details.
  • Access and assist with general filing duties.
  • Access and update electronic diaries and calendars.
  • Participate in relevant training events, meetings or work at other offices.
  • General administration duties including typing, photocopying and filing
  • Using IT appropriately including entering data on to specific Essex CRC and external computer systems, word and excel, along with use of email.
  • Attend regular Local Delivery Unit team meetings
  • Participate in the supervision and appraisal processes with the line manager and in on-going training and development events in order to develop personal practice and skills.
  • Ensure that all activities are conducted in an anti-discriminatory way in accordance with equal opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven admin support experience
  • Able to work with confidential information
  • Able to work with IT applications (Specifically Microsoft Office)
  • Experience of working to deadlines and under pressure
  • Flexible approach with a 'can do attitude'

Package Description

Salary £18,934 per annum

17 hours per week, 27 days holiday + 8 bank holidays pro rata, defined contribution pension scheme, company sick pay, group discount scheme.

This role will be working Monday to Friday and is intended to support another member of the team.

The Essex CRC is undergoing a national transformation as part of the Probation Reform Programme and this vacancy is subject to this change.  If successfully appointed, you will be indicatively assigned as transferring to the National Probation Service under Sentence Management.

The role of Essex CRC is to rehabilitate service users, reduce reoffending and protect the public and we are one of six CRCs operated by Sodexo Justice Services in the UK.  We work with service users both in the community and in custody to deliver the sentence of the court, to rehabilitate them and to provide a range of programmes and interventions to turn their lives around.  We deliver effective offender management and rehabilitation services to low and medium risk service users and our highly skilled staff work in a range of disciplines to make a real difference.  Our aim is to create a better future for the people we work  with – service users, victims and their families and local communities.  We are proud to have strong relationships with other criminal justice agencies, local authorities, health trusts, employment and training providers, and work with contracted partners to enhance delivery to our service users.
