Senior Commercial Finance Manager
Job Introduction
We’re looking for a Senior Commercial Finance Manager to join our UK&I Centre of Excellence.
You will represent Sodexo as part of the bidding team in leading client facing meetings with financial and/or commercial considerations. You will be involved in the financial modelling of all new business and current contract extensions, ensuring that tender responses are competitive, aligned to customer needs and commercially sound for Sodexo.
Whilst working alongside the Healthcare’s Business Development Director and the Business Improvement Team you will take the lead on tracking of business improvement activities. Identifying commercial opportunities and risks associated with all tendering and business improvement activities and controlling contractual negotiations, together with legal representation up to the point of signature of new contracts.

Role Responsibility
- Support the business development team to deliver growth and offer market leading solutions to current and prospective clients.
- Provide commercial and financial input and leadership to the Business Development Team
- The Commercial Finance Manager to ensure:
- the commercial and financial solutions are aligned;
- the financial information on tender submissions is presented in an optimised commercial and strategic manner;
- that the pricing of tenders are accurate, robust and are tested against current benchmarks;
- internal financial sign-off meetings are coordinated and accurately reflect the commercial solution
- Take the lead role in the development of GHIC (Global Healthcare investment committee) and GIC (Group investment committee) papers whenever required
- Collaborate with operational colleagues and other members of the Commercial department during the mobilisation of successful tenders to ensure that all commercial and contractual matters are understood
- Present commercial options to the bidding team, Commercial Director and potentially other members of the Healthcare Executive so that informed decisions can be made on potential issues or solutions
- Work closely with Healthcare’s legal representatives to ensure that risks are caveated and that the contractual Schedules are appropriate and workable, including (inter alia) payment mechanisms, performance monitoring regimes, compensation on termination
- Collaborate with other Commercial Managers within the Commercial Department to ensure that grey areas of responsibility are being effectively covered. Possibilities include new services into existing contracts and market test avoidance proposals
- Lead on the business improvement financial work stream
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Seek and co-ordinate input where necessary from other areas of the business
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with relevant PQE
- Experience in analysing new business opportunities and working with incomplete data
- Excellent numerical and financial modelling skills
- A good understanding of how contracts work
- Able to liaise effectively with non-finance colleagues, sharing ideas and information
- Experience of collaborative working within a joint hard and soft FM environment
- Able to work independently, flexibly and professionally building relationships with key stakeholders
- Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and senior managers / directors
- Experience of working with budgets and financial targets
Package Description
Salary - Upto £80,000 depending on experience plus bonus, car allowance and flexible benefit fund
