As a Senior Chef at Sodexo in Priory Bristol, Heath House Lane, Stapleton, Bristol BS16 1EQ, you’ll play a vital role in preparing high-quality meals that support patient wellbeing and enhance the overall dining experience. You’ll be responsible for managing your own section of the kitchen, ensuring every dish meets our high standards. What you’ll do:
Plans, prepares, and cooks meals, considering special requests or dietary requirements.
Ensures compliance with the company’s Food Safety policies, guidelines, and statutory regulations.
Takes full shift responsibility for the catering operation in the absence of the Head Chef.
Manages stock control efficiently, including ordering food products and checking/reconciling deliveries.
Monitors and adapts food production to minimize food waste.
Researches, develops, and creates varied menus that adhere to healthy eating guidelines and cater to dietary needs.
Provides variety and choice for service users, considering dietary, nutritional, and religious requirements, and adapts diets as needed.
Responsible for maintaining food safety standards and kitchen cleaning.
Experienced in producing meals for large groups on time and within budget.
Supervises catering staff, ensuring quality of work meets operational standards, including food safety and cleanliness.
What you bring:
Numerate, literate, and qualified to NVQ2 or equivalent, with a basic qualification in food hygiene.
Organizes and prioritizes own workload within established procedures.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to monitor costs and liaise with suppliers.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge of specialized diets (e.g., Dysphagia, Allergens) may be required.
First-class customer service skills.
