Quality Assurance Technician

Job Introduction

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our team based at Tillery Valley Foods. As the Quality Assurance Technician, you will be responsible for the monitoring of site-wide compliance to ensure food is manufactured to all food safety, quality and legality standards. This includes continual internal auditing of systems to ensure adherence to second and third party standards.

You will be required to work a shift pattern of Mon-Fri 6am-2pm, Mon-Fri 2pm-10pm and Sun-Thurs 10pm-6am.

 

Role Responsibility

  • Ensure that the QA service provided is meeting the needs of both internal and external customers
  • Review all opportunities to ensure that you are driving standards and maximising your benefit to the business
  • Produce performance data as requested by Technical Manager
  • To support all external audits and customer visits as required.
  • To conduct fabrication audits, GMP audits, Glass & Perspex audits in a timely manner and to report any incidents of non-conformance to the Technical Manager
  • To conduct regular monitoring throughout the shift of compliance of all production paperwork, operational standards, product status, production environment and critical equipment standards.
  • To liaise with production management and to provide an advisory role regarding product quality and safety incidents
  • Support the technical team in conducting product / complaint investigations and traceability exercises for both raw materials and finished products
  • To take and record accurate readings of temperature controlled storage environments at intervals throughout the shift.
  • Comply with all site policies, rules and statutory regulations relating to food safety, Health & Safety, Safe working practices, hygiene, fire and COSHH to include awareness of any specific hazards in the workplace. Also comply with personal hygiene, conduct and absence reporting procedures
  • Coordinating projects/other QA tasks as guided by the Technical manager

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Previous experience working in a food manufacturing environment in a similar role
  • Computer literate
  • Good Communication
  • Accurate data handling, recording and reporting

Desirable

  • Auditing background
  • Experience / knowledge of labelling information
  • Experience / knowledge of product specifications
  • Experience / knowledge of CCP monitoring (HACCP)
