Prison Offender Manager
Job Introduction
HMP Bronzefield are recruiting for a Prison Offender Manager, based within the prison to lead the management and assessment of low to medium risk prisoners and prepare, implement, review and evaluate their sentence plans with them. You will build effective, appropriate and supportive relationships with prisoners, with the aim of reducing re-offending/risk of harm. To be successful in this role, you should have experience of working within the justice system and have experience of working with groups or individuals in order to motivate and change behaviour. The role will involve managing a caseload of multiple residents, therefore experience of planning and coordinating work is essential.
HMP/YOI Bronzefield is a closed local prison serving courts across the South of England. Our mission is to deliver quality of life services which make a meaningful difference to women in the criminal justice system by supporting them to change their lives for the better. To achieve this we focus on providing needs-based services and programmes to rehabilitate and improve the well-being of our women.
We house up to 572 women (approximately 14.5% of the national female prison population). The women in our custody have a diverse and complex set of needs and range from mothers and babies, young offenders, life and long term sentenced women, short to mid-term sentenced women, foreign nationals and women on remand.

Role Responsibility
- Undertake the full range of offender management tasks with low to medium risk cases. No ownership of high - risk cases will be held, but support to Probation Officers in the case management of high - risk prisoners will be given when required.
- Involvement in all relevant processes in the prison such as ACCT and violence reduction/anti-bullying for those within your case load, if this is applicable.
- Interview prisoners within prescribed timescales of their arrival. Set and review targets with prisoners and update case management notes on PNOMIS or relevant IT systems.
- Use the Offender Assessment System (OASys) to identify risks and manage offenders appropriately. Obtain further information if required from outside agencies to complete a comprehensive OASys report.
- Lead the sentence planning meeting to prepare and review appropriate plans.

The Ideal Candidate
- Experience of working with a diverse range of people who have experienced a range of social/personal difficulties, and of using tact and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
- Experience in planning and coordinating work.
- Experience of working with groups or individuals in order to motivate and change behaviour.
- Experience of working with diverse communities including promoting equality and valuing diversity.
- Experience of working with people who have committed offences.
- Understanding of factors related to offending, e.g. substance misuse, accommodation issues.
- Understanding of and commitment to the principles of case management.
- Knowledge and understanding of risk management/risk assessment pertaining to offenders and the impact on victims of crime

£32065.68 (Basic Salary of £28336.44 + London Weighting of £3729.24 Per annum )
