Operational Support Manager - Alliance in Partnership (AiP)
Job Introduction
A great opportunity to join Alliance in Partnership (AiP) in the Schools catering business supporting the Business Director with various operational tasks such as; retention, sales visits, site specific issues such as HR and financial discrepancies, client relationships; ensuring processes are in place to drive the business forward.
The area of responsibility is from Cambridge to Surrey and includes multiple school sites.
Role Responsibility
- To understand and support the management of the finance of the units.
- To oversee the operation of the units and maintain and improve the standards of quality and service and enhance the offer where possible
- To build good client and customer relationships in sites with a keen focus on retention sites
- To ensure open communication with the employees on site and Operation Managers
- To assist with parents’ evenings and other school functions as required
- To plan and manage time effectively
- To assist with team meetings when required
- Maintain accurate files
- Work where necessary with the sales team
- Manage special projects as needed
- To check and monitor the food cost throughout the contracts.
- To ensure promotional days are carried out and merchandising and marketing sustains interest in the range of food offered
- To give advice and assistance to increase the uptake of the school meals
- Monitor the compliance of Company policies and procedures
- To carry out audits to ensure that all sites are aware of the expectations of the Company and the Client and implement appropriate action
- To promote high standards of service, together with high standards of food
- To assist and cover for absence in emergencies within in the kitchens
- To ensure all HR policies and procedures are adhered to and all relevant paperwork is compiled
- To invest quality time in each unit and provide appropriate support
- To set clear objectives and prioritise activities
- To manage time effectively
- To evaluate performance and work methods
- To assist with regular team meetings at least once a term
- To discuss and exchange ideas regarding suppliers and ensure compliance on all purchasing
- To ensure that all administration is completed and sent to the Accounts dept. on time, both weekly and monthly
The Ideal Candidate
Experience in an operational environment across multiple sites
Strong catering background
Good communication skills
Financial acumen
Experience in driving sales and compliance in designated business area
Driving licence required as this is a mobile role visiting numerous sites across a geographical area between Surrey and Cambridge
Package Description
Salary is negotiable dependent on experience
Working 44 weeks per year to fit with school term times
All training and development for role will be provided
