Officers Mess Manager (Hospitality, F&B)
Job Introduction
As Mess Manager in the Officers Mess at the Commando Training Centre, (CTCRM), the principal training centre for the Royal Marines, you'll perform and supervise the day to day activities of the Mess, you'll promote and manage functions including planning, menus and costing.

Based at Lympstone in Devon, CTCRM selects and trains all Royal Marines Officers, recruits and reserves. CTCRM is unique in that it also provides all Non Commissioned Officer (NCO) command training as well as training 70% of all Royal Marines specialists.

Role Responsibility
- Perform and supervise the day to day activities of the Mess, to the benefit of all members and residents
- Lead and develop the team, manage all aspects of performance
- Promote and manage functions including planning, menus and costing in conjunction with the catering team
- Ensure standards of service detailed in the contract are achieved, maintained and developed
- Liaise with key stakeholders and mess committee to develop relationships and promote Sodexo
- Contribute to the growth of all services in order to meet client and commercial expectations

The Ideal Candidate
- Knowledge of working in a management role within the soft FM service industry *soft FM specific technical skills including contract catering, hospitality
- Proven experience of managing client relationships, ideally within a contract environment
- Proven track record of leading, managing and developing a team
- People management skills including general HR skills in recruitment, training and managing employee performance including disciplinary and grievance procedures.
- Good numerical, interpersonal and communication skills, must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication
- Management knowledge of health & safety and food safety
- Ability to make independent decisions
- Able to work on own initiative within a team environment
- Able to demonstrate working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards
- Able to analyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions
Desirable
- Experience of working within military environment
- Health and Safety qualification equivalent to IOSH managing safely
