Movements Clerk

Role Responsibility

  • To maintain all leave files in accordance with current regulations
  • To be the central point of contact for all personnel leave and movements bookings
  • To make reservations for movements by ferries, rail or flights for military personnel and their dependants on assignment
  • To maintain manual movement registers in line with current regulations
  • To manipulate the MOD database to provide statistical information on leave and movements as required
  • To manage hotel reservations through the Central Hotel Booking Service for military personnel and their dependants on posting
  • To electronically process debit vouchers for loss/damaged items
  • To process orders and distribute stationery for RHQ personnel
  • To order and distribute replacement MOD ID cards
  • To issue chits in lieu of MOD ID cards when necessary
  • To issue HM Forces railcards and processing payments on electronic database
  • To manage and maintain the DOMCOL register
  • To take minutes and produce Unit Orders in the absence of the Command Clerk
     

The Ideal Candidate


Essential

  • Previous experience in administration in a busy office environment 
  • Good IT skills, with specific knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • ECDL qualification
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines as well as prioritise, organise and plan
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • 2 GCSEs, or equivalent, at grade C or above, or an NVQ Business Administration Level 2


Desirable

  • Knowledge of military IT systems and environment
