Maths Tutor
Job Introduction

As a Maths Tutor, your main responsibility will be to support and educate prisoners in various mathematical concepts and skills, helping them build a strong foundation in mathematics and achieve their educational goals.

Main Responsibilities
- Teach learners to improve their basic education levels up to Level 2.
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate activities and appropriate courses.
- Challenge negative behaviour and boost self-esteem through role modelling.
- Enhance prisoners' employability and support their rehabilitation to reduce reoffending.
- Deliver accredited and non-accredited courses in Functional Skills English and Maths.
- Monitor the uptake of courses and employ strategies to maximise attendance.
- Track learner attendance, achievement, and progression, reporting any issues to the Line Manager.

The Ideal Candidate
- Full teaching qualification (minimum of CTLLS) or PGCE, or working towards one.
- Experience delivering Functional Skills in a classroom setting.
- An interest in the rehabilitation and resettlement of offenders.
- Awareness of equal opportunities and a commitment to recognising diversity and inclusion.
- Experience in instructing or supporting individuals with challenging behaviour.
- An Assessor or IV qualification is desirable.
- Experience working in a prison environment.
Package Description
Salary up to £42,091.51 per annum - depending on experience.
£38,362.27 per annum plus £3,729.24 London Weighting per annum.
Working Hours - 37.50 hours (Regular Monday – Friday pattern)
