Manager (Royal Navy Trophy Centre) and Assistant to Board of Trustees

Sodexo have an excellent opportunity for a Centre Manager to join their busy team based in Portsmouth. This role is known in business as the Royal Navy Trophy Centre (RNTC) Manager.
Based at HM Naval base in Portsmouth the role will be responsible for the Authority’s trophies – valuable and attractive historic artefacts - as required by the Board of Trustees of the Royal Navy Trophy Fund (RNTF). This includes assessment of condition, presentation, the release of trophies to authorised organisations, co-ordination of specialist repairs with third parties and the general security of trophies within the Trophy Centre.
The ideal candidate should have experience of being in a trusted position, have fantastic people skills and be well organised.

Role Responsibility
RN Trophy Centre (RNTC) Manager is a unique role with the requirement set almost entirely by the MOD Customer, the Royal Navy. It is a combination of a substantial administrative role supporting the work and objectives of the Board of Trustees and a Logistics Manager providing a fully self-contained logistics and inventory management service responsible for approx. £25M of fine art and silverware in this heritage Collection. Effective collaborative working with Sodexo external partners, DE&S and MOD consumers and personnel.
Manage any projects as required by RNTF Board of Trustees to support their key objective which, as mandated by the Navy Board, is to promote the Royal Navy, its ethos and Naval Heritage.
Ensure RNTF Board’s compliance with Charity Commission guidelines, Charity legislation and Military regulations for MOD Service Funds.
Act as the initial point of contact and subject matter expert on RNTF issues requiring Trustees’ attention which will include providing fully-researched recommendations, the complete management of Board Meetings, responding to internal and external enquiries, staffing of all proposed donations and acquisitions, financial implications including trophy repairs and losses, oversight of the annual repair and refurbishment programme, and maintaining a close dialogue with existing and new RNTC customers.
Flexibility on work schedule and location maybe required.
The Ideal Candidate
- This role will attract an individual with significant administrative and management experience.
- Ability to liaise closely, effectively and provide detailed advice to Senior Military and MOD personnel and ensure appropriate governance and policy is maintained.
- Clear and effective communication, interpersonal skills, front facing team member.
- Able to work efficiently on own initiative and as part of a team and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Able to follow and delegate policies, procedures, training and instruction.
- Adaptive and responsive to changing business needs.
