Insights & Research Manager

Job Introduction

As part of our continued evolution within our Government & Agencies segment we have created a new Insights & Research Manager position, we’re looking for an ambitious and talented individual who has a real passion for understanding market, client, and consumer trends.

You’ll establish yourself in the role by building your knowledge and understanding of our pipeline targets - their needs and wants - and our competitor propositions, you’ll create board level actionable reporting and insight to enable us to establish ourselves as a market leader.

Aligning yourself with the segment you’ll own, plan and deploy strategic insight and research program including market, client, and consumer trends; perform targeted tactical insight and research including annual surveys; and bring a laser like focus on the consumer experience within digital and retail services.

Role Responsibility

  • Be a key contributor the ‘Go To Market’ plan and its continued progress and evolution
  • Develop and own brand, buyer, and competitor insights for segment, which needs to form the foundations of all strategic planning and product development.
  • Deploy combinations of internal and external data, and direct engagement with providers, systems, trade groups and influencers to provide insights to the segment leadership.
  • Support the continued development and use of the ‘data cube’ market analysis platform and shape further data inputs and its practical use across business.
  • Analyse and scope the size of the opportunity, entry strategies and investment requirements with reports and business case production as required.
  • Assess the Global and Regional Sodexo product portfolio, identifying best practice relevant and transferrable to the UK marketplace.
  • Working with relevant leaders, and team colleagues to support product development teams, new value propositions.
  • Work with the Marketing Director to identify and develop commercial partnerships to enable growth in agreed strategic areas.
  • Work closely with Client for Life teams to interpret client feedback and build back into marketing and product development process.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of working in a senior marketing role with a track record of developing and managing long term commercial partnerships
  • Demonstrated experience with concept development and implementation strategies, including connecting the dots to create strong product or services roadmap
  • Experience implementing complex projects with multiple stakeholders on time and budget and at high standard
  • Exposure to and knowledge of consumer insight methodologies and data
  • Strong influencing and communication skills (interpersonal, written, verbal, presentation) and demonstrated experience collaborating with Sales teams with successful outcomes
  • Strong planning, analytical and data interpretation skills; evidence of working as part of a team and experience of working with and managing agencies.

c.£45,000 per annum plus benefits & bonus
